About Buprenorphine

Buprenorphine is a drug, approved by the FDA in 2002, used for opiate replacement therapy.   It is most commonly sold under the trade name, Suboxone®, made by the pharmaceutical company Reckitt Benckiser.

Some of the commonly abused drugs for which Suboxone replacement therapy works includes: Diacetylmorphine (heroin), Codeine, Oxycodone (OxyContin, Percodan, Percocet, Tylox), Hydrocodone (Vicodin, Lortab), Morphine (MS Contin, Oramorph), Hydromorphone (Dilaudid), Meperidine (Demerol), Fentanyl (Sublimaze, Actiq), Propoxyphene (Darvon), Methadone (Dolophine), and Opium.
